Hasselblad Ring Shot - Sunshine Coast Wedding Photographer

Just had to share a sweet image from last weeks wedding in Noosa. Groom brought his Hasselblad loaded with B&W film for ME to grab a couple of frames. I was so excited though the light beat us on the day. I did use this gorgeous baby as a prop for the ring shot though. Will post the images next week after the Bride & Groom have seen their gallery - really believe they need to be the absolute first people to view their special day. Enjoy Fiji guys!

Happy Birthday Luke - Sunshine Coast Photographer

Happy Birthday to You ……. Yes my only boy Luke turns 6 today. Have a wedding today so the celebrations will take place on the weekend. But look at those eyelashes and of course he got the thickest curliest hair of all my children. Us females know how unfair that is! Maybe he needs a hair cut but I will enjoy it as long as he does - and being on the coast he gets away with that surfy boy image.

Love-Shoot -Sunshine Coast Wedding Photographer

Mina & Cameron came to the coast from Brisbane for their Love Shoot. We had a great afternoon and captured even better images. Seriously super cute couple - Mina so playful and Cameron smiled a little more than he thought he would - no kissing images though (private joke). Can’t wait for their big day in May - how hot are they going to look and the wedding is going to be soooooo easy. Thanks guys.

Business Seminar - Greg Dries

So whether we as photographers like it or not - capturing amazing images is only half of operating a successful studio - the business side is just as important. Being more of the creative beings, photographers find the business side sometimes a bit more of a challenge. I’ve attended seminars by Greg Dries from Moods Photography before and gained so much inspiration and definitive information. Besides being an awesome photographer he is very proactive in educating other photographers to be smart ethical respectful business owners. Many of you will recognize one of his signature images below. New to the industry or not if you get a chance to attend one of his Seminars - DO IT!!!!!!!!! Thanks Greg.

Sydney Birthday - Sunshine Coast Photographer

My eldest Danica turned sweet 16 last month! Tough age to celebrate - too old for a ‘party’, done the movie thing and too young to drink or go out. So being the good mother I am I flew her and girlfriend, Rebecca, to Sydney for the Easter long weekend. A huge thank you to my sister Trudy and partner Adam for having them for four days. We go regularly to Sydney but pretty exciting to do things without your parents at this age - especially going interstate. Did the city, Luna Park, caught the ferry, shopped and hung out in Manley and Bondi and lots of tennis on the WII. Couple of pics from Christmas just gone of Trudy, Adam and Neeka - had to throw one of little Lucy in as well. Thanks again guys you made her year and all her girlfriends are planning Sydney in place of schoolies next year - so look out.

Gemma & Nick - Sunshine Coast Wedding Photographer

So by the sun you can tell this wedding was NOT this weekend on the Sunshine Coast. Our Easter has and still is very wet. Gemma & Nick were hoping for sun though it took a while to burst through the rain and hence had the ceremony re-located to the house on Alex where the reception was going to take place. And of course the sun came out in time!!!! This gorgeous couple have been friends forever and was no surprise to anyone when they wed. It was a little sooner than planned - yes they are expecting a bub in a couple of months. Gemma absolutely glowed all day - one of the happiest brides ever - and Nick cruised along with a permanent grin as well. Trish from TFMakeup produced her stunning work as usual and young Bill Scurry officiated the ceremony. So these guys are testing the limits - baby, wedding, studying and just bought a house - my head is spinning though they have amazing support from their families. Congratulations Gemma & Nick.

Mooloolaba Triathlon 2009 - Sunshine Coast Photographer

So the Mooloolaba Triathlon is the second biggest in Australia! It is a three day event leading up to the World Cup Round of the Elites here at Mooloolaba. My niece Ruby (you may remember from here) rang my Jené (both 7 yrs old) to see if she wanted to compete in the kids tri this year - Jené was so excited she didn’t know or ask what it was!!!

My sister ran in the Friday twilight 5k run. Then Saturday morning the wee girls lined up for their go - 200m swim, 3k bike and 400m run from memory. Purely for fun - no places given - a medal for all who completed the course. And didn’t our gorgeous Sunshine Coast turn on the weather for the tourists. The rain was going sideways at one stage - but they had a ball and Jené has booked her flight to Airlie Beach in September to compete up there again with Ruby.

Doug’s sister Polly competed in the surf swim on Saturday - couldn’t handle more rain, kids and trying to keep my camera dry. Next year though.

The main event for us was Sunday morning with my brother-in-law Doug partaking in his age division. All up there were over 4000 competitors in varying categories and age divisions. He has been gradually building up to this over the last year or so and we think he has been bitten big time by the BUG.  He took a good 10 mins off his best time (2 hours 37 mins) and it was his first time competing in a full tri other than training. He actually looked as good at the end as when he started. Well done Doug!

Doug looking very relaxed and ready to go.

This last image is of my Mum and my other niece Jasmin’s boyfriend, Jed, stranded in the rain. At one stage there were four of them under there.

Mag Style Lingerie - Sunshine Coast Photographer

Well the family visitors have just left yesterday (took the sun with them) so back into the work!!! Will post some images of the Triathlon in a couple of days though I must get this session on. All ladies interested in a Mag Style Boudoir Shoot rather than the norm then these sessions are for YOU. Perfect for brides-to-be surprising their man on the big day, anniversary present or just to celebrate being a gorgeous female. Trish from TFMakeup (brilliant bridal makeup artist) and I have teamed up to offer these Studio Sessions. The following three gorgeous gals are volunteers - not models - one has two children. You get two make-up styles, two change of wardrobe and two different lighting styles. So ladies there are no excuses for not having a little fun and either being yourself or someone you are not. You can contact myself or Trish to schedule your session. Go on stop saying “One Day” or “I’ve always wanted to”.

Just to show it is not all serious, sexy & sultry - we have some laughs………
