Just a peek - Sunshine Coast Wedding Photographer

This first image is what greeted me at last weekends wedding. Yes the bride and bridesmaids trying to fix the slideshow of images to play at the reception. This was 1 1/2 hours before the ceremony and it was just the start of the drama. The second image is the niece of the bride and I just loved how she held her baby bouquet and of course the green bubbles were the bribe to get her walking.  More to come of course once the Thai honeymoon is over and I know the couple have viewed their gallery. It was absolutely stunning - brilliant couple, a friendly fun bridal party, an award winning venue and of course perfect weather.

Also have a gorgeous intimate wedding from today to share and a couple of Love Shoots.

UPDATE TO VENUE FOR THE FUTURE OF PHOTOGRAPHY MEETING ON JUNE 15TH  There has been overwhelming response and young Ross has had to change the venue to the University (just around the corner from the original location). Good news is you now get a drink or two with the nibbles included in the admission. Jump over to the coast photographers blog for all the details, times and map if you have not received the update email. Promises to be an interesting night. I was very lucky to work as an assistant to Ross in my early photography days and if you would like to see some of his talent and words of wisdom visit his blog - seriously amazing commercial work.

The Future of Photography - Sunshine Coast Photographers Meeting

So I was talking to Ross today and he said there has been problems with server/mail applications not letting his email through to some.  He has a huge database for the coast though if you are a local photographer and have not received this take a look. This will be a great night - if you are new to the coast or new to photography don’t be shy - just the networking alone will be worth it. Ross has set up a blog as a communication & network site for all Sunshine Coast Photographers - coastphotographers.blogspot.com See you there.

Hasselblad Ring Shot - Sunshine Coast Wedding Photographer

Just had to share a sweet image from last weeks wedding in Noosa. Groom brought his Hasselblad loaded with B&W film for ME to grab a couple of frames. I was so excited though the light beat us on the day. I did use this gorgeous baby as a prop for the ring shot though. Will post the images next week after the Bride & Groom have seen their gallery - really believe they need to be the absolute first people to view their special day. Enjoy Fiji guys!

Happy Birthday Luke - Sunshine Coast Photographer

Happy Birthday to You ……. Yes my only boy Luke turns 6 today. Have a wedding today so the celebrations will take place on the weekend. But look at those eyelashes and of course he got the thickest curliest hair of all my children. Us females know how unfair that is! Maybe he needs a hair cut but I will enjoy it as long as he does - and being on the coast he gets away with that surfy boy image.

Mooloolaba Triathlon 2009 - Sunshine Coast Photographer

So the Mooloolaba Triathlon is the second biggest in Australia! It is a three day event leading up to the World Cup Round of the Elites here at Mooloolaba. My niece Ruby (you may remember from here) rang my Jené (both 7 yrs old) to see if she wanted to compete in the kids tri this year - Jené was so excited she didn’t know or ask what it was!!!

My sister ran in the Friday twilight 5k run. Then Saturday morning the wee girls lined up for their go - 200m swim, 3k bike and 400m run from memory. Purely for fun - no places given - a medal for all who completed the course. And didn’t our gorgeous Sunshine Coast turn on the weather for the tourists. The rain was going sideways at one stage - but they had a ball and Jené has booked her flight to Airlie Beach in September to compete up there again with Ruby.

Doug’s sister Polly competed in the surf swim on Saturday - couldn’t handle more rain, kids and trying to keep my camera dry. Next year though.

The main event for us was Sunday morning with my brother-in-law Doug partaking in his age division. All up there were over 4000 competitors in varying categories and age divisions. He has been gradually building up to this over the last year or so and we think he has been bitten big time by the BUG.  He took a good 10 mins off his best time (2 hours 37 mins) and it was his first time competing in a full tri other than training. He actually looked as good at the end as when he started. Well done Doug!

Doug looking very relaxed and ready to go.

This last image is of my Mum and my other niece Jasmin’s boyfriend, Jed, stranded in the rain. At one stage there were four of them under there.

Mercury Workshop - Brisbane

So yesterday fellow coast photographer Leanne and I travelled to Bris Vegas to attend a business workshop with the 2008 Canon Australian photographer of the Year Mercury Megaloudis. You would go just for the name….. It was an inspirational workshop focussed on giving your business a kick in the butt. He covered doing great business in bad times, marketing, studio operations, branding, style and much more. Mercury has a great positive outlook on everything not just photography and he is falling over himself (literally) to share with fellow photographers.  A couple of his award winning images below - if you ever get the chance to attend a Mecury Megaloudis Workshop - don’t hesitate.

Installing a Husband - Sunshine Coast Photographer

Thought this was good for a laugh!!!!!!!!!! Have a great weekend.
INSTALLING A HUSBAND

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0  and Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.

Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate.

DEAR DESPERATE,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.

Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the  Guilt 3.0 update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0  should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to  Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.

Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0  ;program. These are unsupported applications and will crash  Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and    Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck !
